When I arrived in the UK, I did not even fully understand what a grammar school was. People spoke about them like they were the key to success. I joined the UK school system mid GCSE and eventually received an offer from Wallington Grammar. It wasn’t easy. There were assessments, interviews, uncertainty, and moments of self doubt. I didn’t get in because I was perfect, but
because I stayed patient, worked hard, and believed I could catch up. Supportive parents and teachers helped too.
